A Swiss music-tech company and a Fraunhofer research lab
Jamahook is a Swiss music-technology company, and its matching engine is the first product of a long-term cooperation with Fraunhofer IDMT — built on Fraunhofer's SoundsLike AI music-classification research and deep neural networks. The official site is jamahook.com.
The core idea isn't generation, it's retrieval. The plugin generates a musical signature from whatever it hears — tempo, harmony, groove, mood, genre, instrument — and ranks library loops by match proximity, all without leaving the DAW, with off-key results auto-transposed to your project.
Be clear about what it is. This is a specialist tool for people who already produce in a DAW — it does not write songs from a text prompt, and if you're not working in a session it's the wrong tool. Treat it as a smarter sample finder, not a Suno alternative.
The commercial model is split. The plugin and matching are free for inspiration, but you need a Cloud Loop Subscription to legally own and drag out cloud loops, and local matching is a one-time Offline Agent license after a 30-day, 10,000-loop trial. Decide up front whether you want cloud, local, or both.
